Dr. McLaughlin visit the EERG lab at EEEL building today to share his thought about biochar research and some insight about carbon capture technology.
Hugh McLaughlin is Director of Biocarbon Research at Alterna Biocarbon, a biocarbon manufacturing firm headquartered in Prince George, British Columbia. He has worked in process development and environmental engineering for more than three decades mostly as consulting engineer to a wide variety of manufacturing operations. He is an expert in the area of activated carbon manufacture and its utilization in air and water treatment applications.
Hugh has several patents in the area of activated carbon use and regeneration. He has led efforts at Alterna Biocarbon to enhance the native adsorption capacity of Alterna Biocarbons, enabling biocarbons to be utilized in applications traditionally requiring more expensive carbon products.
