Many of tomorrow’s innovators in biomass can be found today at the University of Calgary’s Schulich School of Engineering, studying under Prof. Nader Mahinpey.
The chemical engineering professor is working with about a dozen doctoral, post-doctoral and other graduate engineering students that form part of the Energy and the Environment Group at the school.
He says biomass as a source of energy is a rapidly growing field even though it receives a lot less attention in Alberta, which is rich in natural gas and oil.
