Cameron started his MSc at UofC with the EERG Group in September 2021. His thesis work is focused on the development of 3D printed adsorbents for use in carbon capture. A novel limestone-based mixture was used for calcium-looping, and the resulting sorbent monoliths were compared against limestone powder, and random packing.

I obtained my BSc in Chemical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, Saudi Arabia in 2017. Nima Ghafarvand

Nima started his master’s at UofC in 2023. He is working on modeling the thermodynamics and kinetics of the dry-reforming reaction. His interests are process design and process simulation.

Dr. Sanaz Daneshmandjahromi

Sanaz Daneshmandjahromi is a postdoctoral associate in the EERG group. She received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering at Shiraz University, followed by a PhD in Chemical Engineering at University of Calgary.
Her research focuses on the application of novel nanomaterials for the carbon capture processes.

Dr. Raja Muhammad Afzal

Dr. Raja Muhammad Afzal holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and is currently working as a Postdoctoral Associate in the EERG group and as a Research Scientist in the Environmental Services Group at InnoTech Alberta. Previously, he held Postdoctoral Researcher positions at Polytechnique Montreal and Tsinghua University. His research area focuses on hydrogen production, CCU/carbon management for climate change mitigation, process design, simulation and optimization, techno-economics, LCA, scale-up analysis at different TRLs, and technology commercialization.

Dr. Himanshu Sharma

Dr. Himanshu is currently working as a postdoctoral associate. His current research includes the design and development of heterogeneous catalysts, hydrogen production,CO₂ utilization, and process optimization. He also has experience in the commissioning and stabilization of industrial steam methane reforming plants.
